We pay so much attention to the people who get addicted to various kinds of drugs, we call the AA for them and consider they go to rehabilitation. These drugs take over the individuals – changes them physically and mentally but why do we brush off the fact that we probably need rehabilitation centres for the souls we get addicted to too? We are blinded by them and we allow ourselves to be blinded.

Those are the human beings we get addicted to because we see things in them that we have never seen in anybody else. Their manner of speaking, walking, eating or sleeping โ every little thing they do seems to be different from what we see daily. They care way too much but in denial that they do and make us feel like a somebody and we have probably never experienced that before.
We find ourselves giggling when we see something as random as an apple just because they said something about it when we were with them. We want to keep their clothing items which have their scent and their favorite sunglasses or watch just so that we have to meet up with them again soon to give it back.

Unaware, we react to their messages with smiles and chuckles and we are always keen to see what their response will be to what we have just said to them. Whenever something happens, no matter how big or small, they are the first person we want to tell โ in very fine detail. We could be merely telling them a story about how we saved an ant today and they would listen and entertain our story.
When they are telling us something, we pay attention for a certain amount of time then spend the rest of it just staring and admiring them. We enjoy watching them focus so much on doing a minor task such as tying their shoe laces, driving or even when they are watching a movie. When it is time to leave them we start to feel our hearts get a little heavy although we will probably see them again tomorrow โ we still never get used to leaving them.

One human being can be an addiction to another but why is it ignored? Is it because other drugs we get addicted to donโt solely revolve around feelings? Or is it because being love-smitten is something ideal in this world? Maybe we should start considering how vulnerable these addicted people are โ anything can happen to them which could leave their souls with open wounds that will last a lifetime. Perhaps they will need rehabilitation centers created for them. Perhaps they will do just fine. Perhaps we should keep celebrating that they are whipped and ignore it as an addiction.
