Please don’t read the title and act confused or curious as to what this post is about because as a man and as a woman reading this, you know very well what men put women through and we both know they will never stop until they are dead. I am not a feminist and that might frustrate women who are, nonetheless I am not against it – I’m just not in it at all. While you are reading this keep in mind that I am not bias towards any gender, I am merely stating my opinion on my daily observation. Now that that’s out the way, let’s get into it…
Let’s start off with analysing the basic stereotypes men adopt so confidently and how they act. First of all, they are probably the weirdest creation in the world for constantly seeking validation from their mates – which guy doesn’t feel superior to their mates when they have multiple partners? Having more than 1 partner seemingly makes them feel manly and committing to 1 partner is not so ideal. It doesn’t matter to them how their partner(s) feel, as long as they get what they want and they remain at the top of the food chain. Silly. Should they be blamed for their small minds? I don’t think so.
Way back in the days men were literally taught that the world is theirs – everything on it is theirs and they need a woman besides them to help them conquer the world (but that woman needs to stay behind and below them). Sadly, somehow that mindset has been passed down to guys up to this day. Women are getting more and more liberated, logical thinkers, independent, they are constantly evolving and bettering themselves. Then there are men… never changing and being a disappointment to women and the world overall without even trying. Tragic.
You’d think that feminists and their protests would help men realize how women feel and how they are treated by them but they… just… won’t… learn. Let’s not even talk about the rape culture, physical abuse, catcalling and everything that makes men ‘trash’. Let’s talk about the defensive men that claim, “NOT ALL MEN ARE TRASH!” – are they not the ones that actually feel as though they are the police of what a ‘real’ woman’s body should look like and how women should behave? Are they not the ones that take our solid ‘NO’s as a joke or playing hard to get? Are they not the ones who make women feel uncomfortable when they go silent and stare as the woman passes? Yeeaah, not all men are trash hey?
Men literally think their existence on earth is more important than the existence of women. Their cockiness is unmatched, they are so convinced that women wear make-up and short outfits to impress them. You see them posting statuses and tweets saying, “I’d never let my girl leave the house wearing that” and “Ladies, we love you without make-up”. Goodness me, what level of delusion is this?
Then they also come into our DMs/Inbox with that annoying question – “Hey, when am I seeing your pretty face?”. When men stop us and say they want to talk, they swear us when we tell them we can’t talk and if they don’t swear us, they literally walk besides us and keep nagging – it doesn’t help asking them to leave you alone. When they ask for our number and we say no, they beg for a reason as to why we don’t want to give them. They make unnecessary remarks as we pass, they disappoint and disrespect their partners and feel nothing towards it when the issue is addressed. We cannot enjoy our meals alone at the restaurant without them disturbing our peace.
Seemingly, women were brought on earth to be men’s entertainment, men do not make women feel as though they belong in this world. They do not protect women, they do not fight with women for equal rights, they do not see anything wrong with how they treat and talk to women. You know what’s unfortunate? The idea that men won’t stop until women are all dead. While they are still alive, they will still be harassed by male family members, men will still rape women and get away with it, they will still hurt their partners and not care much, they will still applaud their mates when they are being unfaithful to their girlfriends and wives, they will still feel like they have power over women, they will still linger around our DMs, they will still judge women’s bodies and make them feel uncomfortable and they will still swear women for not agreeing with them. Wild.
I dream of a world where men have self-control, a world where men think before speaking or even acting, where they can express their feelings without feeling any bit less of a man, where men speak up against their mates and a world where women feel a sense of belonging. Until next lifetime, I will keep dreaming.
