Faith It ‘Til You Make It

November 25, 2020 in Articles, Motivational - 2 min read

We all go through a phase where all we ever think about is giving up on our hopes and dreams just because things aren’t taking the route we had primarily envisioned them to.

It’s challenging to stay positive when things don’t go our way but the reality is, there are plenty of ways to kill a cat… or a dog.. or anything really so if one method does not work, figure out your next attempt.

First and foremost, the most vital thing for you to do is to believe that you will get where you want to be eventually. It does not matter how many years it will take but if you desperately want something and value it that much you will gracefully tackle all the obstacles that may come your way.

Also, do not be hard on yourself – avoid having extreme expectations because you might just suffer from minor depression when you realize that things aren’t as easy as they seem. Setbacks happen but they cannot stop you from being great if you are determined and know what you deserve.

Yes, there will come a point where you will question the need for you to go on and question whether it is worth it or not. The mere fact that you started it means it had a trinket of worth in your life.

Drown yourself in anything that will keep you motivated, whether it’s motivational quotes, books or YouTube videos perhaps. If seeing a picture of your deceased family member reminds you how important it is for you to not give up, then keep that picture close-by and where it will be visible whenever the thought of throwing the towel crawls in your mind.

Usually things get worse before they get better therefore whenever you feel as though you are overwhelmed with challenging situations, keep in mind that it’s about to get a whole lot better. You will be afraid that setbacks will last forever and that there is no way of getting out of them but it’ll pass because well life goes on. Things will turn out great, just have a little faith.

I never really agreed with the original version and so appreciate your title very much, and equally meaningful post.

As someone who often puts far too much pressure on herself, this is wonderful reading.

Thanks for the like. I just created a wall on Facebook, I think. I responded to Mozilla’s call for comments on net neutrality. It’s under Robert Graden; I hope it’s there. If it doesn’t work, Mbalenhle, please let me know. I want to be your friend, and I’m getting braver and braver as I’ve got nothing to lose. Oh, and I stood up to Dr Telew and, jeez, he wants to be my friend, too. It’s amazing what a little courage can do. Just accept that we’re gonna die and fight for what’s right. Let’s impeach Donald Trump! What do you say?

I went to church this morning for the first time in my life. Our Redeemer Lutheran. Met a lot of people who were very accepting of me. Lutherans are very liberal, unlike Baptists. A lot like Catholics. I took communion this morning and can’t believe it. At one point the keyboardist played “Pavane pour une Infante Defunte” by Ravel and I just dissolved. I figured it was OK to just be myself there. Nobody criticized me for not being dressed up nice, etc. I think those who do pick on me are shallow. There’s much more to life than appearance. And I will indeed leave my current shrink. I can only take crap from him so many times. I’m bored with him. Need new ideas. Thanks for reading. Rob

Well said! “Faith It Til You Make It” I love this. Life is full of challenges and if we apply that way of thinking some of our troubles won’t seem so big. Perseverance is the key. Thank you for sharing.
